Saves and converts (Pro)

STL, OBJ, GLB, PLY and 3MF. For example STEP → STL for printing, or STEP → GLB to show on the web. Also PDF (technical drawing and quote), CSV for Excel, PNG, MP4 and an HTML file to send to your client.

Doesn't open

SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, NX, Creo, Parasolid, JT, SketchUp, Rhino 3DM, Revit, DWG/DXF, FBX and 3DS. These are closed formats: reading them legally requires vendor licences. Export them to STEP, glTF or STL in the program they were made in.

How big a file it handles

Estimates for a computer with 16 GB of memory (with 8 GB, expect about half). The absolute maximum is 1.5 GB.

FormatPractical maximum
STEP, IGES, BREPabout 60 MB comfortably; above 300 MB the app warns you
Binary STL, GLB, 3MF, binary PLY500 MB to 1 GB (10 to 20 million triangles)
OBJ, text STL, DAE, VRML, G-code300 to 500 MB
Point clouds (PCD, XYZ)about 500 MB

For very large files, export as GLB, 3MF or binary STL rather than STEP or OBJ.
